Mr. Abderrazak Daaloul, Secretary of State for Fisheries paid a visit on Wednesday to the ports of Kelibia, Beni Kiar and El Haouaria (governorate of Nabeul) where he took cognizance of fishing activities in the region.

Mr. Daaloul said that the new regulations relative to data traceability of fish products will strengthen the fight against the illegal and unregulated fishing. He also stressed the importance of raising fishermen’s awareness about the importance of ensuring the safety of fish products through traceability systems.

Electronic measuring instruments will be set up in Kelibia’s port in the coming days, in addition to finding appropriate solutions to the problems posed by the docking in the port of unused ships.
